Marking a milestone in the legal industry

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton -

The Bengzon Law Firm, with its strict adherence to ethical standards, professionalism and integrity, has gone a long way since it was founded by two distinguished legal luminaries of the Bengzon clan, former Justice Jose Bengzon, and his son Jose Bengzon Jr. Through the years, brilliant managing partner and lawyer Mela Bengzon, together with her topnotch partners and associates, has continued this tradition of legacy and excellence.

Just recently, the Bengzon Law Firm marked a milestone as it celebrated its 10th anniversary. Valued clients, friends and colleagues from different sectors came to show their continuous support to the firm. The children’s choir of the Virlanie Foundation, an institution that cares for abandoned and poor children, rendered a captivating song performance for Mela, who also celebrated her Ibiza-style birthday on another occasion.

Seen gracing the affair were notable personalities including former Supreme Court Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban, British Ambassador Stephen Lillie and wife Denise, Swiss Ambassador Ivo Sieber, Australian Ambassador Rod Smith, Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis “Chavit” Singson, San Miguel top honcho Ramon Ang and FURNitalia managing director Florence Ko. Here’s a toast to Mela and the firm’s continued success!

An intimate birthday bash for Wilson Tieng

Sharing the most important day of his life with the people close to his heart was the main agenda of the evening as Solar Entertainment Corp. president Wilson Tieng recently celebrated his birthday with a bang at the newly-opened Club Palladium at the New World Hotel in Makati. The extravagant affair had Wilson’s family and friends from the business, political and media circles enjoying a wonderful night filled with fun and music. Among those who shared their time with Wilson were Sen. Bong Revilla Jr., Lily Monteverde, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Sonny Coloma and CATS Motors chairman Greg Yu. It was truly a day to remember! May you be blessed with more years, Wilson!

A heartwarming evening with friends

It was a memorable evening of music and laughter as genial Dodi Puno and gorgeous Best Dressed Women of the Philippines awardee Charade Galang recently hosted a special dinner for dear friends at their beautiful Essensa home. Guests enjoyed the special menu prepared by master chef Gaita Fores of Cibo. It was perfectly paired with sparkling champagnes and exquisite wines. Along with great conversation, music filled the air with songs rendered by founder of New Minstrels and brilliant lawyer Rene Puno and his wife Ann, lovely Linda Ley and even Rupert Jacinto who impressed everyone with his smooth baritone voice. What a truly heartwarming affair with people close to my heart!

Dancing with a vengeance

It was truly an unforgettable and a first of its kind affair -— a dancing party for people who experienced difficulty in walking. Headed by Dr. Jose Fernando “Jofe” Syquia, a group of physicians specializing in joint replacement surgery known as the Advanced Orthopedics for Joint Replacement (AOJR) made a most touching gesture to their patients who were previously challenged with arthritis by hosting a dance affair for them at the Manila Polo Club. With the main lounge magically transformed by interior decorator Junjun Ablaza into a magnificent ballroom complete with dancing lights, the former patients boogied all night to the music of Gloria and her band after an exquisite dinner of Thai cuisine. A special thank you to these good doctors for giving more than just what the patient needs. May your tribe increase!
