Three birthday celebrations for Cacay
The city, the beach and the mountains. Three venues, three celebrations, one vivacious birthday celebrator: party and event organizer Cacay Moras.
The first celebration was an intimate gathering of close friends hosted by AA Arquiza at her new pad in the city. The sunset spa-themed party beautifully decorated by Marielle Capistrano and Rosana Evangelista treated guests to luxurious foot and shoulder massages in specially set up areas while having their drinks. Talk about having your cake and eating it, too. Thank you to Lucio Pua of Premier Wines who sent over the new Cuervo Black plus some bottles of wine just for this occasion.
A few days later, the birthday girl was jetting off to Cebu for the second part of her celebration, which was a dive trip to the famous Malapascua Island known for the Thresher sharks and manta rays. After some fabulous underwater revelry, everyone was ready for the main celebration in the city.
It was a quick drive up to the mountains of Busay where Cacay’s third birthday celebration party was hosted by best friend Milo Osmeña in his mountain rest house. The cool air mixed with the breathtaking view of the city added to an unforgettable night. Another treat was the arrival of Cacay’s other best friend, Melinda Roos, who flew in all the way from Kuala Lumpur just to be with the birthday girl on her special night.
Happy birthday to my dear friend Cacay!
A celebration with Karen Concepcion
It was a shower of blessings for Karen Fabie Concepcion as family and friends came in full force for the opening cocktails of her 17th one-woman painting exhibition entitled Celebration.
Her paintings, displayed on the walls of Ayala Museum, depicted the joy of living, including Kyoto in Autumn, a piece that was inspired by the selflessness of the Japanese during the devastating Japan earthquake last March. Karen was there with her family during that horrible time for Japan.
“I realized how lucky I am to be here and how short life really can be, we should embrace it even more and be thankful for all that we have today,” said Karen, a graduate of the College of Fine Arts (Major in Painting) of UP Diliman.
Being an equestrienne, Karen’s line-up also reflected her love for horses. In other pieces, she captures the amazing colors and movements of koi as well as the striking beauty of the cymbidium orchid. Blessed with two more children since her last exhibit five years ago, Karen also had paintings of her kids.
Leading Italian appliance brand Smeg was a proud endorser of Karen’s exhibit and part of the proceeds of the show will be contributed to the educational fund of the Catholic Women’s League Santuario de San Antonio chapter.
