Thai food fest at the Mandarin

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton -

Thai cuisine is certainly one of the world’s best. The cosmopolitan Mandarin Oriental, Manila knew this all too well when it held its fourth Thai Food Festival at its chic and trendy restaurant Paseo Uno. Mandarin Hotel GM Mark Bradford, along with Royal Thai Embassy Consul Krai Mahasandana, Thai Airways International Philippines and Guam GM Sern Chupikulchai and his wife Priyanuch, opened this year’s gastronomic feast. An aromatic balance of spicy, sour, sweet and salty flavors marked the mouth-watering buffet spread exquisitely prepared by a four-man chef team from Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi, Chiang Mai led by chef Chanin Jakkased. It was definitely a spread fit for kings!

Congratulations, Mandarin!

All for the great Palawan dream

Congratulations to the indefatigable Zest Air president and CEO Alfredo Fred Yao for being recently lauded by President Benigno Aquino III for his remarkable efforts in boosting the tourism sector in Puerto Princesa. During the official launch of the Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) campaign in Malacañang, the honorable president commended Fred for his admirable initiatives to boost tourism including his plan of establishing a direct flight form Shanghai to Puerto Princesa.

Bravo, Fred! More power!

A toast to Russia

The beautiful Paseo de Magallanes showroom of Muebles Italiano, the country’s leading distributor of European fine furniture, proved to be an ideal setting for a special meeting of the Philippine Russian Friendship Society Inc. (PRFSI) — with no less than the Russian Federation Ambassador Nikolay Kudashev as guest of honor. PRFSI officers Baby Bunag, Narda Camacho, Charito Melchor, Noel Gonzales, Annette Ablan, Ting Escobar and several society members were delighted to hear exciting news about the forthcoming events of the Russian Embassy from protocol assistant to the Russian Ambassador, the good-looking gentleman Dmitry Larionov. Hosted by the affable Muebles Italiano president and CEO Noel Gonzales, the affair also marked 35 years of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation (the successor state of the former Soviet Union) and the Philippines.

To our Russian friends, here’s to good health!
