Finding comfort, finding home

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton -

What a relief it is that we no longer have to travel far and wide to get our hands on fashionable and stylish furniture after The Pietro Collection formally opened the doors of its new home in Makati. To mark the launch, store owners Winnie Rodrigo-Domingo and Rachelle Rodrigo-Almario, together with their gracious mother Tessie Rodrigo, put up a designer living space showcase cum exhibit with the paintings of young artist Risa Recio as centerpiece.

Entitled Shifting Spaces, the exhibit featured five stylish home settings created by noted interior designers: sisters Ivy and Cynthia Almario, Amina Aranaz-Alunan, Marion Coscoluella, Marites Magcase and Sophia Ojeda using Pietro’s lamps, mirrors, rugs, accent furniture and other decorative accessories. A great spread prepared by top chef Gaita Fores went well with the wine that overflowed that evening.

It was truly a feast for the eyes and the palate!

A plush bash for Ope 100 glorious years and counting!

The hardworking Francisca “Nanay” Gregorio, the matriarch of the Gregorios, of the famous Gregg Shoes, recently celebrated her 100th birthday, surrounded by her loving daughters Lilia Almario, Ody Arroyo and Amelia Maliwat, family and friends. The elegant celebration was held at Ody’s residence, whose garden was beautifully transformed into a majestic palace pavilion by Robert Blancaflor. Everyone enjoyed the sumptuous food catered by Gaita Fores and the nostalgic music performances by Cris Medina and the Soundstreams. Happy birthday, Nanay!
