Healing through the arts

MANILA, Philippines - Fourteen years since former National Security Adviser and UP president Emanuel “Noel” Soriano was “blessed” by illness and took his first steps — his first strokes — in the path of the healing arts, four of his paintings have been printed into cards.

These commemorative paintings were selected from over a hundred paintings that Noel made during his art therapy sessions with Maria Abulencia since 1998. His paintings were greatly enhanced by the frames made by master framer, Johnny Soriano. From Emanuel — A Fisherman’s Story, the joyful sharing of lifestories continues now with real-life fisherman and theology student, another “Noel”, Noel Flores, who will print the cards, and writer and entrepreneur Rufi Vigilar who will employ families from Payatas communities to make sturdy and beautiful boxes to hold EVS Greeting Cards.   

Each box contains 20 blank cards and envelopes.
