A taste of the good life

A tasteful gathering was held once again by BestWorld Beverage Brands, Inc. (BBB) as it hosted a wine dinner recently at the exquisite Dusit Thani Manila’s classy and authentic Italian restaurant Tosca. Wine ambassador Lorenzo Zonin flew in from Italy to attend the dinner to present several top wine varietals from Casa Vinicola Zonin. Prosecco Special Cuvee Brut was served to welcome guests with its intense and fruity aroma plus an extremely delicate hint of almond that perfectly matched the Italian bites and canapés. Seen at the lavish gathering were Italian Ambassador Luca Fornari, Belarus Consul Annette Ablan, Zonin export manager Luca Aridi, Dusit Thani Manila general manager Prateek Kumar, BBB’s Edna Diaz and beauty queen Miriam Quiambao.

Bringing all the fond memories to Jakarta

In the spirit of friendship and good camaraderie, the generous Nora Robles, together with some members of the Friends for Cultural Center of the Philippines, recently hosted a despedida party for the congenial socialite Carrie Bautista, wife of Ed Bautista, who is going back to Jakarta for good. Held at Nora’s opulent residence in Forbes Park, the gathering was filled with close friends who all bade Carrie a happy and safe journey abroad. Happy trip, Carrie!

Making cancer treatment more accessible

Asia America Initiative (AAI), a non-profit organization led by executive director Angola Consul Helen Ong and country director Bai Rohaniza Sumndad-Usman, recently handed over P750,000 worth of specialized medicines against breast cancer including Tamoxifen to Philippine Cancer Society and Ospital ng Makati. These medications will be provided free of charge to indigents who cannot afford life-saving treatments. Kudos to AAI for this noble act!

A fun-filled celebration for Adela

Adela Tan is a woman of inspiration, faith and generosity. She is fondly called “Mommy Adela” or “Nanay” by people close to her. For affable Muebles Italiano owner Noel Gonzales, she is his ever dependable “Ina ng saklolo” who helped him find the ropes to eventually start his business. Adela recently marked another year with a special birthday celebration at the Muebles Italiano showroom in Makati. The occasion started with a solemn Mass officiated by Monsignor Matt Garcia, Fr. Boyet Concepcion and Fr. KC Moraga. Family, friends and business partners were treated to an enjoyable evening of great food and excellent entertainment by The Angelos, lovely songstress Pinky Marquez with special participation of multi-talented father and son – Noel and Kris John Gonzales.
