A Grey Goose chase

Grey Goose vodka hosted its second invitational golf tournament at the Sta. Elena Golf Club. Among the elite participants were Rep. JV Ejercito, Charlie Carmona, Chito Melo, Charles and Anton Palanca, Bonito Singson and Jay Server. Class C division winner went to Jake Fleta, while Class B went to Willy Tee Ten; the class A division champ went to Javy Legarda, while the ladies champion was Cielo Fregil and Lowest Gross Winner was Jet Mathay.

A 19th-hole party and awarding ceremony followed at the new Velocity Bar at the Marriott Hotel in Newport City where the vodka brand showcased a lavish menu of signature cocktails paired with especially created appetizers. Players were seen enjoying the Strawberry and Basil Martini concoctions, while the women enjoyed sipping on the L’Orange Cosmopolitan. The sports bar was the ideal venue for the awards night as guests played the various games set up across the entire venue. The putting contest was a major hit with everyone trying their hands at winning a special Grey Goose putter as prize.

Grey Goose’s Rajiv Ghumman explained why Grey Goose is the world’s best tasting vodka, saying: “Grey Goose is made in Cognac, France, home to the world’s most respected experts in spirits making. The vodka benefits from the region’s rich history of creating luxury foods, wines and spirits. The maître de chai (cellar master) for Grey Goose vodka ensures that every element of its production is of the highest quality. He selects 100 percent of the finest French wheat, the same wheat used to create delicious French pastries, and employs an exclusive five-step distillation process to concentrate its exceptional flavor. Pure spring water naturally filtered through Champagne limestone is then blended with the spirit. Only when the spirit has reached its optimal taste is the maître de chai truly satisfied. Grey Goose vodka is lush, smooth and rounded and melts in the mouth with a long-lasting, satisfying finish.”

Rajiv added, “It is this attention to detail and to luxury that makes Grey Goose so special. And as we did last year, it truly is an honor to bring this special group together for a tournament like this and we look forward to the third one next year, which we expect to be even better.”

Pick a reason to party!

The party was called “Pick a Reason to Party” at Nuvo in Greenbelt 2 and, indeed, there were enough reasons to party! The monthly Hennessy sponsored birthday bashes had Mariko Jacinto, Sanya Smith, Sam Sy and Jose Moreno all celebrating their birthdays at the packed restaurant-bar on a Saturday night.

The women were gifted with makeup from Guerlain and the men got scents from Bulgari, courtesy of Luxasia. Hennessy cognac was the open bar drink for the night as the crowd spilled to the al fresco area of the ground floor. Birthday girl Sanya even took time out from celebrating by choosing to spin on the DJ’s booth.

The party ended at almost 3 in the morning and we all can’t wait for the next birthday bashes at Nuvo!
