The gracious and fashionable Linda Yu recently chose Society Lounge at the ground floor of the Atrium of Makati as the venue for her delightful birthday celebration. The occasion was celebrated with her closest friends: the statuesque Charlene Cobankiat Tiu with her equally beautiful mother Aida Cobankiat, the stylish Abeth Yu, low-profile siblings Winnie Go and Willin Chan, chic sisters Sunny Vergara and Ruby Chua, the ultra-successful Connie Haw and Best Dressed Women of the Philippines 2010 awardee Salome Uy. Your columnist and these ladies enjoyed the sophistication of Society Lounge as it continues to be the destination of choice for elegant people who want only the best in ambiance, surroundings and, of course, sumptuous cuisine made by multi-talented chef Patrice Freuslon, and crisp, aged-to-perfection wines.
Happy birthday, Linda, and a great many more!
A new phase for IWCM
The Inner Wheel Club of Manila (IWCM) recently had a 1920’s-themed turnover ceremony at the Manila Pavilion Hotel from past president Lita Goño to the newly-elected president, Monaco Consul General Fortune Ledesma. Exemplary members Minerva Tanseco and Monette Guevara were also recognized that night. The lavish evening was followed by a fine time with some colleagues at the grand Dasmariñas Village home of Jose and Fining Tambunting for a Knights of Columbus event.
Here’s to the good times!
A daily dose of Italy
While looking for a place to satisfy my craving for authentic Italian dishes, I chanced upon the inviting façade of Italianni’s in the Greenbelt Makati area. My gustatory excursion started with the enticing salmon carpaccio with a nutty pesto sauce, followed by the delectable seafood-rich fetuccine frutti di mare and the succulent top blade in al fungi sauce.
See you there!
A tea party to remember
The Catholic Women’s Club (CWC), an active charity organization founded in 1921, recently held its annual tea party at the Manila Polo Club with the theme Kultura at Kalikasan. The energetic organizing committee composed of chairman Letty Hahn, president Rose Lazaro, co-chairpersons Maria Allgeier, Sol Tan Gatue and Thelma Gana led this year’s colorful festivities, which aims to promote fellowship and camaraderie among the members.
Congratulations!
