An auspicious roaring at Mandarin

The Year of the Tiger started with a festive celebration at the Mandarin Oriental, Manila headed by general manager Mark Bradford. In the tradition of a true Mandarin celebration, the Chinese New Year started with a grand ceremony of rituals to attract good luck led by international geomancer Joseph Chau. A colorful lion and dragon dance followed by a spectacular fireworks display and a 10-course lauriat menu prepared by executive Chinese chef Hann Furn Chen left the guests wanting for more. The festivity was made more fabulous with spring floral arrangements by brilliant designer Tito Villanueva. The splendid evening was made more glamorous with the presence of Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay and wife Dr. Elenita, STAR EVP Grace Glory Go, Smart Communications’ Infinity business group head Julie Carceller and Moet Hennessy Asia Pacific chief representative Olga Azarcon.

Cheers!

Zonta Club to honor outstanding members

Noted soprano Rachelle Gerodias and brilliant tenor George Yang will serenade the honorees. See you there!

In scholarly fashion

A simple yet very meaningful affair for the annual UP Scholarship for Medicine and Fine Arts Foundation led by “Asia’s Fashion Czar” Pitoy Moreno changed the lives of the future doctors and artists of the country. Deserving students from the University of the Philippines taking up Medicine and Arts-related courses received scholarship grants from the foundation started by papal awardee and philanthropist Imelda Cojuangco.

Cheers!
