Turning Japanese
A Japanese-themed soiree called Sakura was recently set in the elegant Tokugawa village setting of Mogambo Springs of Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, Asia’s premier resort destination in the Queen City of the South. Spearheaded by its dapper managing director Manny Gonzalez and GM Efren Belarmino, the event featured designs by two of Singapore’s freshest names in fashion — Singapore-based Cebuana designer Lotte Delima-Edwards who presented her fabulous “Japan in My Mind” collection and Ana Liew’s “Tokyo Sky” collection of jersey styles in modern prints and cuts. The well-heeled ladies of Cebu society came sashaying down the catwalk as did several beauties from Singapore who flew in for the event. Mogambo Springs was judged the Best Spa Experience in Asia by the Asia Spa and Wellness Festival 2009.
Fun farewell
The well-traveled Maritess Limtong was recently feted with a despedida by some of her closest friends. A day of delicious food and great company was enjoyed by the group as they bade farewell to Maritess before she headed back to her home in Las Vegas. It was a truly joyous gathering.
Bon voyage, Maritess!
