A fresh new start

It was one perfect afternoon for welcoming new beginnings as charming couple Joann and Dr. Gerard Salgado recently inaugurated their new home in San Juan. Loving family members and close friends came in elegant white and silver outfits as they took part in the joyful occasion which started with a solemn blessing ceremony officiated by Fr. Christian Saminal, OSJ of the Sanctuario de San Jose in Greenhills. It was followed by a grand and lavish reception that had well-heeled guests and sponsors such as San Juan Mayor JV Ejercito, Ado Escudero, Cynthia Meneses, Rose Marie “Baby” Arenas, Consul Mellie Ablaza, Gerry Contreras, Danny Dolor, Marlyn Go and Nene Leonor savoring the lip-smacking buffet amidst the fine ambiance of the couple’s opulent residence.

Seasons of George

It was another delightful get-together as George Sison celebrated his birthday at the luxurious Gercon Plaza penthouse of Gerry Contreras. Known for his spectacular gatherings, George exceeded everybody’s expectations once again with a sumptuous buffet and special program which was hosted by Becky Garcia. The program featured an unforgettable performance by 11-year-old Janella Salvador and her mother Jenine Desiderio of Miss Saigon as well as a number by concert pianist and CCP artistic director Raul Sunico and lovely couple Carlos Lopez and Pilita Corrales. The evening was truly an enjoyable one for the celebrator and his guests.

Johnny says, ‘Check this out’

The Zonta Club of Makati and Environs Foundation will hold a Charity Bazaar on Aug. 8 to 9 at the Rockwell Tent from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Club president and bazaar chair Olga Severino Martel said proceeds will fund the club’s numerous cause-oriented projects. In great company with family and good friends

Cheers and gaiety permeated the whole night as Fila man Butch Albert recently celebrated another year with a fabulous bash held at his opulent home. Organized by his lovely wife and business partner Cris, the fun and relaxed occasion welcomed the attendance of family members including fashion icon Wanda Louwallien and actress Ana Abad Santos as well as special friends from the church, art and business circles. Guests had a blast as they sang and partied till the wee hours while enjoying the heavenly buffet courtesy of Bizu and superb entertainment by brilliant saxophonist Vince Lahora. Happy birthday, Butch!

A testimony of camaraderie

Team spirit is quite difficult to pull together these days but the residents of Barangay Bel-Air prove that it is still achievable with their community’s annual Pasinaya celebration entitled Summer Na, Bel-Air Na, New Wave Pa. Nene Lichauco directed the entire three-day festival as she brought numerous members of the barangay together to put on an unforgettable show. This yearly event is truly a testimony of what camaraderie is all about.
