13 Seconds to Love and XpressMusic

THE PEPPER MILL - Pepper Teehankee -

Kjwan launched its new album called 13 Seconds to Love through the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Its latest album is in the non-conventional cheesy context and is about the universality of life and love.

Nokia Philippines GM William Hamilton-Whyte says: “This one-of-a-kind collaboration with Kjwan is our way of helping spread and push Filipino talent through the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. We saw it fit to pre-load the new tracks of Kjwan into our new mobile music player so that users can have a more enjoyable experience with it.”

This is the first time the mobile company has partnered with an award-winning local rock band in the country. The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will come pre-loaded with Kjwan’s 11 new tracks plus 25 more from Universal Music, as well as photos and videos. The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic was awarded as the Best Speaker Quality by Danish testing agency Delta. It also offers a graphic equalizer, 8GB memory for up to 6,000 tracks, support for all main digital music formats, and a 3.5mm jack. It has a drop down menu called the “Media Bar” that provides direct access to music and entertainment, including favorite tracks, videos, photos and a direct link to the Web for seamless sharing via Share on Ovi, Facebook, MySpace and YouTube. One can also choose one’s own input method whether it be QWERTY, handwriting, finger keymat or alphanumeric.

The launch, which was presented by Pulp and Nokia Music, also featured the head-banging performances of Salamin, Faspitch, Even and The Out of Body Special.

Big, bad birthday bash

A “Big, Bad Birthday Bash” is what Oliver Mendez called his party at Ascend in the Fort and it truly was!

Champagne overflowed at the by-invitation only event that attracted a whole bunch of his friends. Being co-owner of Ascend, the party was held at the SkyeVIP @ Ascend. Turning a year older is something Oliver usually celebrates. Pumping house music was played by DJ Peter Hager all the way to the closing time curfew of the Fort.

Oliver truly knows how to throw a birthday party and his guests are already looking forward to his next one.
