Three birthdays and a vintner

It was a happy birthday for the Madrid-based Mari Borao as two of his closest friends treated the celebrator to a sumptuous dinner at their posh penthouse suite. Mari, the ever gentleman, jet sets to Manila once or twice a year to celebrate special occasions with his friends. The evening was a perfect example of true friendship.

Our second birthday celebrator had one of the greatest gifts a person could receive on his birthday when Lilibeth Campos threw a surprise birthday party for her most beloved husband, Paqui Campos, at their home in Bel-Air. The couple’s family and closest friends were present at the intimate celebration and enjoyed the best of Spanish cuisine.

Capping off our birthday list is that of a grand Moroccan-themed birthday bash for Milagros Cruz, which her son Joel Cruz, of the perfume brand Aficionado, recently hosted. The occasion was truly a star-studded affair as the concert queen Pops Fernandez and songwriter Ogie Alcasid gave outstanding performances.

And then another intimate wine dinner hosted by BestWorld Beverage Inc.’s Edna Diaz was held recently at the M2M Bar Lounge of Renaissance Hotel featuring a four-course meal prepared by chef John Webster with Jacob’s Creek wines, one of Australia’s most popular and widely exported bottled wine owned by Orlando Wyndham. Throughout the world, Jacob’s Creek is known as the quintessential Australian wine brand.
