Teeing off to prizes and surprises

Fairways and Bluewater Resort Golf and Country Club pulls out all the stops to make the upcoming 7th Fairways and Bluewater Chairman’s Cup on Nov. 10 to 12 the biggest golfing event in Boracay this year. Held annually as a "Thank you" to its members and as a birthday bash for Fairways chairman Noel "Toti" Cariño, this year’s tournament promises to be one filled with fun and surprises.

Around 120 golfers have already confirmed their participation and prominent companies have also extended their involvement through sponsorships. Among those joining this year’s cup as sponsors are Star Travel.com, Boracay Golf.com, Asian Spirit, Seair, La Reserve, Hana Tours, Mizuno, Boracay Radio Station, Swing Magazine, Golf Digest, The Bellevue Hotel, Rep. Ricky Sandoval, Kuwait Airways, Turf Company and Fil-Estate Marketing Group.

Fairways and Bluewater Resort Golf and Country Club operations manager Baby Ignacio has also confirmed the participation of seasoned performers such as The New Minstrels, Leo Valdez and other artists from Manila who are staging an exclusive concert for this occasion. Apart from the festivities, members will also get to see the new improvements being made to make Fairways and Bluewater truly a world-class golf resort.

A triple birthday celebration

It was a triple birthday celebration for three beautiful people: former beauty queen turned movie star Jean Saburit, jetsetter Fe Dixon and Philippine Star columnist Rod Nepomuceno. Friends, families and associates all turned up at gracious host architect Gerry Contreras’s elegant penthouse in Makati to wish the birthday celebrators well.

Two birthdays in Batangas

It was a pleasant day at former Batangas Gov. Tony Leviste’s country retreat as he hosted a birthday lunch for his daughter Toni and family friend Nedy Tantoco. Guests from the diplomatic corps dropped by to wish the birthday celebrators well, and they thoroughly enjoyed the buffet of delicious Filipino fare that lovely belles Celia and Charlie Leviste cooked up for the special occasion.

Lunching with Rotarians

A lovely luncheon in honor of Joan Wilkinson, the wife of Rotary international president-elect Wilfred Wilkinson, was tendered by past Rotary international director, the suave Paing Hechanova and his exquisite wife Mely. It was the first time that the wife of a Rotary international president has come to the country in the last four years, and Paing and Mely deemed it proper to give the wife of Rotarians in the Philippines a chance to informally chat with their guest of honor. The memorable affair at the latest destination of choice for superb cuisine and ambiance, Le Souffle in Rockwell, saw the crowd engaging in friendly conversations and exchanges of their memories of Rotary. Color and class

Cheerful and colorful gatherings of stunning ladies happen weekly at Rustan’s Essenses Makati as it holds glitzy and glamorous beauty workshops. Most recent was the Christian Dior workshop facilitated by its brand manager Ana Constantino. Together with Dior’s makeup experts, lovely ladies were taught how to put on day and evening makeup and were treated to giveaways in addition to their purchases. Happy shopping at Rustan’s!
