Unmistakably Bulgari

THE PEPPER MILL - Pepper Teehankee -
Bulgari launched its latest jewelry collection with a cocktail at the Ayala Museum in Makati City. The new "Parentesi" collection is touted as the restyling of the unique Bulgari sign.

Guests were welcomed at the museum lobby amid rows of retro paintings of the "Parentesi inspirations" from the 1970s to the 1980s. The "Parentesi Evolution" transpired as guests walked through a series of blown-up photographs of the new pieces. Bulgari introduced the "Parentesi Evolution" with four live female models elegantly clad in Parentesi pieces in gold combined with white brilliant-cut diamonds.

The exhibit was choreographed by Jackie Aquino with lounge sounds by DJ Manolet Dario. Guests enjoyed Moet & Chandon champagne and Belvedere Vodka courtesy of Diageo Philippines. The party continued at the Zen Garden beside the Ayala Museum with heavy cocktails by The Peninsula Manila and overflowing drinks provided by Future Trade International such as Woodbridge Cabernet Sauvignon wine, Chardonnay, White Zinfandel and Bombay Sapphire gin.

A stand out in the collection was the white gold necklace containing four brilliant cut diamonds totaling 7.23 carats, 27 emerald cut diamonds with a total of 32.34 carats and two larger brilliant cut diamonds of 21.05 carats. Adding more glitter is an assortment of baguette diamonds totaling 24.46 carats to frame the creation. That’s 85 carats all together. Each piece is made with the highest quality diamonds in terms of cuts, pureness and clarity – another of Bulgari’s distinctive traits teamed with its creativity.

The new Parentesi collection is available at the Bulgari stores at 6750 Ayala or Greenbelt 4, Makati City.
Closer to Palawan
Coron in Palawan seems to be the next favorite holiday spot. The flying time to Coron with Seair is the same flying time to get to Boracay. Coron, unlike Boracay, has more islands (over a thousand) to choose from. Imagine having an island all to yourself!

The Palawan Center has opened on Pasay Road, Makati, bringing Palawan closer to your fingertips. In the pre-launch cocktail party, James Simpson, president of the Destination and Development, Inc. and the prime mover of the Palawan Center, said Palawan is definitely the next global destination in the Philippines.

Palawan Gov. Joel Reyes gave his full support to make this novel and unique concept become a reality. He proudly specified that the center is the first of its kind in the country. It boasts of an exhibition area with booths that display the products and island-resorts and business outfits with Club Noah, El Nido Resorts, Jewelmer and Seair already in the lineup of exhibitors.

During the evening, the governor announced that Paradise Mango Rum has been chosen as the official drink of Palawan, which guests enjoyed that evening. Seair’s Patrick Tan was beaming with joy because Seair was chosen as the official airline to Coron. Music was provided by Jay Cayuca. The cocktail went on till late in the evening with guests telling their colorful stories about Palawan while turning and shaking the bamboo rainmakers, a give-away from the office of the governor.

No one ever worries if it rains in Coron because it has its eternal beauty come rain or shine. In Coron, one finds beautiful views in every direction. The rock formations all around are magnificent and unique – each one having a different story to tell and mystery to unravel. Publicist Louie Cruz considers Coron to be the "third wonder of the world." Maybe it’s time to check out Palawan!
