Philippine Ambassador to Japan Domingo Siazon and his lovely wife Kay were among the leading models in the fashion show Cool Asia 2006 at Tokyos leading fashion center, the Omotesando Hills. The show, hosted by Japan Minister of Environment Yoike Yuriko, featured Asian ambassadors and top Japanese government personalities as models wearing "Cool Biz" attire, a term coined to refer to various kinds of business attire that are suited to the hot and humid climate of Asia. Siazon modeled our very own barong Tagalog made of pineapple fiber, while Kay wore an elegant blouse and skirt jusi barong. The "Cool Biz" concept was launched by Japanese Prime Minister Kunichiro Koizumi last year as a campaign for mitigating global warming by encouraging less use of air conditioning through the wearing of cool attire. Keep up the good work in Japan, Ambassador Siazon!
