Caring hearts

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton -
The Foundation for Lay Education on Heart Diseases, Inc. (FLEHD), a group of eminent cardiologists whose goal is to educate the public about caring for the heart, continues to travel around the country to spread its good news of heart health. The hardworking FLEHD founding president Dr. Adolfo Bellosillo expertly steers the group in the right direction and gives a hands-on approach from organizing public fora to delivering lectures to individuals in far-flung barangays.

Their recent victory was the successful induction of FLEHD’s Albay Chapter officers, led by special guest Albay Governor Fernando Gonzales. An out-of-town trip would not be complete without a public forum, so Dr. Bellosillo and his team of expert doctors held its 170th public forum in Ligao City graced by the presence of Ligao City Mayor Linda Gonzales. Following their trip to Albay was a visit to Bacolod where the group held their Fifth Regional Assembly on Preventive Cardiology hosted by the FLEHD Negros Occidental Chapter. More than 250 physicians from the provinces of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Iloilo and Capiz were welcomed by Negros Occidental Medical Society president Dr. Francisco Paylado and given insights by keynote speaker, Department of Health Western Visayas regional director Dr. Lydia Depra Ramos. The assembly gave attendees a chance to get valuable information on the latest in heart care, providing a setting where doctors can openly exchange ideas and questions with renowned cardiologists. Thanks to FLEHD for bringing their expertise to many Filipinos around the country!
