A tangy new bar called Citrus
January 17, 2006 | 12:00am
It is destined to be one of the hottest bars in Manila. The former Venezia that later became V Bar has a new sleek look and, yes, a new name: Citrus.
Citrus made its presence felt in late December with a party sponsored by Moet & Chandon. People flocked to check out the new bar. Judging from the turn out, the bar is definitely a hit.
With a new corded-off VIP area replacing the former round bar, new adjustable Lucite bar stools and new interiors done by Anton R. Mendoza, Citrus has the feel of a cozy New York club. Cecille Ysmael was the project manager who oversaw the construction and was responsible for purchasing materials. Music was by Bombi Balquiedra and Tirso Garcia.
Louie Ysmael was on hand to welcome guests to his new bar which was packed with literally the whos who is Manilas party scene.
Seen enjoying the party were Cinderellas Richie Santos, Sid Reyes, Luigi Avanceña, designer Rhett Eala, US Embassys AJ Joes, Canadian Embassys Bob McCubbing, Leo Po, Marielle Santos, Pia Velasquez, Jose and Tin Moreno, Carminia Pavia, Gerhard Walter, Grant Hughes, Vicki de Leon, Monch Cruz, Edvee Cruz, Jami Ledesma, stockbroker Ian Antonino, Francesco Lops, Toby Consunji Reyes, Jackie and Marco Antonio, Christophe Lejeune, Alana Montelibano, Manny and Mia Padilla and Asia Spirits Noel Oñate.
And to think that Citrus hasnt even had its grand opening yet! The grand opening is on Jan.25, strictly by invitation only. I wonder how packed the place will be?
Fuentes Publicity Network, one of the countrys leading public relations agencies, celebrated 15 years of publicity power in an intimate gathering at Mezze in Greenbelt 2.
Guests were welcomed by company president and founder Edd Fuentes who established the one-man corporation in the basement of his Malate house that turned a major industry player that provides PR services to companies in the Philippines. Today, Fuentes Publicity is one of the countrys most sought-after PR agencies specializing in corporate PR and marketing communications as well as events management, below-the-line advertising, and graphic design services.
Singer Shanice Michaels provided cozy entertainment as several Pizza Hut and Taco Bell gift certificates, shopping vouchers from Citibank, Nivea and Imedeen beauty packs and a Philips mobile phone were raffled off to guests.
Other guests included Irene Martel-Francisco, Maurice Arcache, Robby Mananquil, Velerie de los Santos, Toti Palileo, Grace Magno, Mikee Romero, Nap Rama, Larissa and JR Tamayo, Allure columnist Philip Cu-Unjieng and Leah Puyat.
Congratulations Edd, heres to more years of publicity power!
