A grand farewell show
October 13, 2005 | 12:00am
The ever-friendly and hardworking diplomat, outgoing Chinese Ambassador Wu Hongbu, was recently honored with a festive and joyful farewell dinner at the O.B. Montessori Hall. Hosted by our very own Philippine Star publisher and chairman Max Soliven, together with his gracious and lovely wife Ambassador Preciosa Soliven and STARGATE president Babe Romualdez, the memorable and touching occasion was testament to the deep friendship developed between Ambassador Wu and the Solivens.
The dinner was enlivened by a Broadway-quality presentation entitled Pinoy Pride, truly worthy of a Cecille B. De Mille extravaganza and put together by the talented and enthusiastic faculty members of the O.B. Montessori Center.
The colorful and lively affair was graced by the presence of diplomats and government officials, who were greatly impressed with this awesome production of regional costumes, music and dances prepared especially for them. This truly inspiring event served as a gesture of appreciation to the kind and industrious Ambassador Wu, whose work has greatly helped bring progress to the country.
We hope to see you again in our country soon, Ambassador Wu!
After eight months of planning, the hard work of Century Park Hotels managers paid off as they pulled off one of the most ambitious hotel projects to date Manilas Bridal Fair of the Century.
The two-day event had many highlights, from the opening ceremony headed by guests of honor Dr. Lucio Tan and Manila Mayor Lito Atienza, to the afternoon program where celebrity resource speakers gave talks for soon-to-be-wed couples. Topping off the affair was a fabulous bridal fashion show that wowed everyone as the hotels Atrium Lobby was transformed into a virtual fashion theater.
General Manager Paul Gill and EVP T.K. Tan are to be commended for making such a grand event a success!
