Affairs of the heart

More than five years have passed and the Foundation for Lay Education on Heart Diseases, Inc., (FLEHD) still continues its commitment on educating the public on how to take care of their heart.

The foundation successfully held 160 public forums on the heart, five annual conventions and four regional assemblies on preventive cardiology and two barangay health workers workshops. Soon, the Professional Health Workers in the Government Service seminar will be under way. By the end of the year, the Foundation will have a total of ten chapters, including those in Batangas, Negros Occidental, Bohol, Leyte and Palawan!

Thanks to the unbeatable leadership of FLEHD president Dr. Adolfo Bellosillo and his hardworking team of doctors, who are tireless in their efforts to spread the gospel of FLEHD throughout the country.

Happy Bastille Day!

A vibrant celebration of the National Day of France saw the attendance of more than 800 well-wishers from the diplomatic, business and social communities of Manila. Chargé d’ Affaires Bernard Regnauld-Fabre formally welcomed VIPs who came in droves to celebrate the historic storming of the Bastille, which marked the first step of the people of Paris to champion democracy.

A toast to France with Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Franklin Ebdalin and Papal Nuncio Antonio Franco was given, as other noted guests like Presidential Management Chief Rigoberto Tiglao, House Speaker Jose de Venecia, Senator Alfredo Lim and former Senator Leticia Shahani celebrated with the French on their very special day. It was a colorful affair with an abundance of French wines and favorite Filipino and French dishes.
