A well-attended cocktail party in honor of Gambian President Alhaji Dr. Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh was successfully organized by the ever vibrant Honorary Consul to Gambia, Agnes Huibonhua. The colorful affair at the Mandarin was full of remembrances of the guests encounters with the President, and the harmonious relations built between Gambia and the Philippines throughout the years.
Sharing their experiences were former Philippine President Fidel Ramos, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, Libyan Ambassador to the Philippines Salem Adam, Canadian Ambassador to the Philippines Peter Sutherland and Beth Day-Romulo. Other special guests were former Senator Loren Legarda, Babes Romualdez and Art Lopez. The amazing success of the party only means continued friendship for the two nations for many years to come.
Congratulations!
Maricor Nieto, the epitome of Southern grace and gentility, was treated to a surprise birthday dinner at the popular Mezze restaurant and bar in Greenbelt 2. Loving family and friends, such as her son Marco with wife Dr. Lisa Romualdez, and her daughter Chris with husband Meralco scion Mike Lopez, greeted her with a birthday song as she stepped in the restaurant. The wonderful little affair was made memorable by the scrumptious small plate specialties of Mezze and famous Spanish dishes from the now-defunct Doña Nenas restaurant.
Happy birthday, Maricor!

Like a butterfly with colorful new wings, Johanna Vi Tuparan Cadungog, or Jovie as she is dearly called by friends and family, blossomed into a lady as she celebrated her 18th birthday at the Grand Ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Proud parents Jovito Jr. and Vicky Cadungog watched their daughter take her first steps into womanhood.
Clad in an elegant creation by Aureo Alonzo, Jovie floated into the ballroom decorated with classy bouquets, ribbons, and candles.
