A card for you

Recently, U2 launched its VIP card near its store at the Shangri-La Plaza. Guests were treated to delicious CPK pizzas and special cocktails called Sweet Stinger and Summer Kiss concocted by everyone’s favorite bartender, Doods Dayto.

Everyone was enticed to shop that night since U2 gave a special 15 percent off. Raffle prizes given away that evening were from Seawind Resort in Boracay, Urban Spa, Travel Club, Crabtree & Evelyn and Smart Girltxt. Cinderella’s Richie Santos also gave out several U2 gift certificates.

Rissa Samson
and JR Isaac, who were in U2 outfits, hosted the event and announced the night’s Best Dressed. Chris Yam and Anna Bella won the award and received gift certificates. A fashion show followed the program, then the distribution of the VIP cards.

The VIP cards extend a 10 percent discount for U2 and it is fully transferable and has no expiration date.

Ferragamo’s Fashion Gala
The Westin Philippine Plaza’s Harbor Garden was the venue for the Salvatore Ferragamo Spring/Summer Fashion Gala with one of the heirs to the Ferragamo empire, James Ferragamo, in attendance. 

Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) together with Globe Platinum celebrated this occasion with a unique fusion of local sound and European style.

As guests arrived for cocktails, a silent auction presented by Globe Platinum was on-going for a stunning new development in cellular design and technology: The Motorola Razr V3 Black complemented by a 14-karat white gold bracelet studded with brilliant 60 1.5 pointer diamonds.

, who acted as host, introduced SSI EVP Anton Huang who expressed gratitude and accomplishment with the celebration of a two-decade fruitful relationship bound by a mutual commitment by them and the Ferragamos. A brief speech by James, grandson of Salvatore Ferragamo, followed wherein he toasted to the friendship between their respective family enterprises.

A six-course dinner was prepared by the Westin Philippine Plaza led by its marketing head Rose Libongco. Following the dinner was the fashion show showcasing mostly whites and beiges for the women. Men’s suits finished in black, blue and gray with shirts in vibrant prints and solids were also presented. The show was set against an Asian sound interpreted live by Grace Nono and The Makiling Ensemble.

Globe Platinum head Mayette Siasoco expressed the group’s appreciation for James’ presence and presented him with a special gift from Globe Platinum.

Three winners of a 3G quad-band Motorola were also called on stage to receive their brand new cellphones. A gift from the House of Salvatore Ferragamo to a favorable audience member was a deluxe red-orange Spring/Summer 2005 Cricket Peccary handbag.
Welcome To The Future
Fashionistas, music enthusiasts and party people trooped to Embassy at The Fort to celebrate individualism and style. "Welcome to the Future," had models strutting Diesel’s Spring/Summer 2005 collection with dancers taking the party to another level with a Flamenco dance number. DJ Jon Herrera laid out a very eclectic yet appropriate music for the night. 

Joining the revelry were MTV VJs Sarah Meier, KC Montero, Cindy Kurleto, Marc Abaya and Reema Chanco and MTV VJ Hunt winner Don Puno.

Ashanti In Manila
Hip-hop and R&B princess Ashanti will be in Manila for a one-night concert on May 26, 8 p.m. at the Araneta Coliseum.

She has worked with J.Lo, Ja Rule, Big Pun, and Fat Joe, helping their records reach the top of the music charts.

Her lead single Foolish from her debut album made waves and received heavy rotation on radio stations. Her concert will cover her hits from her two albums.
