The gilded halls of Andy and Tereret Liboros posh abode in Forbes Park was the venue for the latest Spanish-themed cocktails-and-dinner affair held by SMART Infinity, the countrys most premium cellular service, and Sony Ericsson. A coterie of prestigious and prominent guests from Manilas social register comprised the guest list of the illustrious bash.
Gracious hosts Andy and Tereret welcomed the guests in their elegant main sala, and delightful conversations were had by everyone as the waiters served tasty tapas and fine red and white wines. Your columnist, acting as master of ceremonies for the night, then introduced indefatigable and dapper SMART Infinity product manager Tom Valderrama, who gave a short speech on the latest amazing services available from the telecommunications company. Among the companys executives present were mobile division head Boy Martirez, corporate business group head Julie Carceller and postpaid marketing head Jon-Jon San Agustin.
Also spotted were Senate first lady Mila Drilon, the ever-beautiful Menchu Concepcion and consumer advocate Ronnie Concepcion. As the sumptuous dinner was served, guests were treated to a soul-stirring performance by the young, beautiful and talented British-Filipina jazz singer Mishka Adams, accompanied by jazz guitarist Edgar Avenir. Everyone then proceeded to the Flamenco room of the Liboro residence, where the ever-young Tereret Liboro showed off her dancing prowess with several Spanish dance numbers, along with Mayenne Carmona, Cecille de Joya and Dante Silverio. Tereret especially wowed the audience with one number where she danced with a rose in her mouth.
Congratulations for a simply amazing event.
Who would ever think that some of the countrys CEOs, aside from excelling in the field of business, could belt out tunes as well? At the recent CEO Sings Timeless Music fund-raising concert of the Character Building Foundation, Inc. at the Meralco Theater, they showed that they could. I was personally delighted and pleasantly surprised to see the talent displayed by brilliant legal whiz lawyer Frank Chavez. He refused to sing live, but he made up for it by dancing to the tune of Blue Suede Shoes, which roused everyone in the audience.
Aside from wowing the audience with their renditions of old classics, the performers gave heartwarming speeches about the importance of character building in our country today.
They included Lisa Cabahug, Noli Cabahug, Jose Mari Chan, Corporate Session and Art Manuntang.
Congratulations to Character Building Association founder and president Heidi Sison for producing and directing such a successful show.
