Sex & The City revelry

Lights, glamour, action! The Bellevue Hotel was filled with funky fashionistas, dashing gentlemen and alluring ladies at the recent HBO Sex & The City: A Final Toast high lifestyle extravaganza. Hosted by yours truly, together with exquisite woman of style and substance Chechel Joson, the glitzy event was organized for Asian Vision Cable Holdings (AVCH) subscribers and members of The Bellevue’s Alabang’s Finest.

Together with event partners AVCH, HBO and Rustan’s, The Bellevue Hotel transformed its 20/20 Bar and Entertainment Center to a hip New York venue. Highlights of this sensational evening included a special Sex & The City advance screening by HBO, a private viewing by Rustan’s, a dating game with model Brad Turvey, a fashion presentation by Robbie Carmona, a raffle and Sex & The City look-alike contest. Cosmopolitans, martinis and cool cocktails were generously provided by Artic Vodka’s Franco Limjuco. Bellevue’s frontliners GM Cyndy Tan-Jarabata, marketing services manager Ryan Chan and executive assistant manager Patrick Chan were there to welcome the lucky invitees who came from all over the metro.

Members of Alabang’s Finest were especially delighted to be among the VIPs in the event. The by-invitation-only club of privileged residents and top executives who have made The Bellevue their social and business destination of choice has organized unique affairs such as an art exhibit, a fashion brunch and private viewing, and will soon celebrate its first year. So to all who want the best out of life, "Make it Alabang! Make it The Bellevue!"

Congratulations for such a smashing party!
An ‘intimate’ birthday bash
The charismatic and ever-popular gentleman Bob Zozobrado recently celebrated his birthday with what was supposed to be an "intimate" luncheon for close friends. "Intimate" turned out to be farthest from the truth; practically the whole town turned up for the bash! That’s how many close friends Bob has!

The Turf Room of the Manila Polo Club was the venue for one of the warmest, happiest, and cheeriest birthday celebrations in a long time. The big turn-out was a tribute to one of the most amiable and unflappable gentleman hereabouts. Your columnist told of the countless Media Fam Tours handled by Bob during his days as GM of a leading international airline and how Bob took care of media groups, consisting of as many as 27 ornery press stalwarts, without once losing his temper. At the time, Media Fam Tours were just getting off the ground, thanks to the pioneering efforts of Bob and another airline’s marketing genius Rita Dy, who was also in the crowd.

The multitude of guests included attractive lifestyle editors Millet Mananquil, Joanne Rae Ramirez, Ethel Timbol and Chelo Banal Formoso, thoroughly enjoyed sampling dishes from a long table of warm pasta, roast beef, chicken, fish and tenderloin dishes, a table full of cold salads and yet another table of yummy pastries.

Happy birthday, Bob!
Where friendly winds blow
The wind was chilly during my last visit to the enchanting island of bliss, Boracay. The rains and cold weather didn’t dampen my spirits, though, because a most warm and friendly welcome was given to me and my companions by Sea Wind president Federico Jarantilla. Boy, as he is fondly called, gave us the red carpet treatment and rendered us heartfelt service beyond compare.

We sampled Sea Wind’s appetizing fare of the largest and most succulent crabs, luscious grilled prawns, special glazed turon sprinkled with sesame seeds and other sinful delights. Boy also gave us a grand tour of the Sea Wind museum, and gave us a peek at the native-inspired bamboo rooms. Afterwards, we were off to the beach, which was but a few steps away from Boracay’s friendliest hotel – Sea Wind!

See you there!
