Tinting life with color
September 14, 2004 | 12:00am
Because of the popularity of bags, shoes and accessories in classic black or white in Carbon, retail-couple Joanna Preysler and Raul Francisco came up with a more colorful store in Tint, which opened at the ground floor of Greenbelt 3 in Ayala Center.
Family members present were Rauls mom, Patsy Francisco; Joannas grandmother, Pacita Jacinto; Rauls brother, Dr. Randy and wife Irene Martel Francisco, with their daughter, Isabel, who had her own table with Joannas daughter, Monica.
Also present were Reena Francisco; Yoya and Carlo Tanseco; John and Keena de Jesus; and Joannas cousin, Mandy dela Rama-Santos who was due to give birth anytime during the stores opening.
High-quality Tint bags, shoes and accessories cater to the more casual moods of the classy woman. Tint is an answer to other designer items that usually come at a very high cost. Tint keeps all their stocks to a few pieces so one can sashay with that pink pebble-grained "Joanna" bag and be confident enough to know that the odds are pretty low bumping into someone else that has the same bag. The colors of the new Tint Collection of leather bags are almond, orange, fuchsia, lime, deep blue and bright yellow. Pony-hair thong slippers, flat mules and driving shoes are also sold in the store.
Other guests seen at the store opening were Sofia Elizalde; Kit Zobel; Melissa Elizalde; Monica Olondriz; Debbi Yabut; Barbara Aboitiz; Cristina Brandner; Itos Carag; Trisha Punsalan; Monique Sison; Monica Olbes; Cristina Davila; Gil Coscoluella; Mary Ann Lumen; Nini Licaros; Mia Cuenca; Joyce Oreña of Jos; Firmas Ricky Toledo and Chito Vijandre; fashionable sisters Jessica and Wendy Puyat; Ayalas Rowena Tomeldan; Myrna Fernandez; Diether Ocampo; and Leah Orosa. Of course a lot of them bought the stores on-stock inventory and almost made the store look empty.

Man-about-town Danny Giles is a familiar face in Manilas party scene. It was no surprise when The Prince of Jaipur at The Fort was packed when he celebrated his 30th birthday there. Dannys twin, Matt, and his wife Amy flew from England to be at the party. Mom Maggie and sister Geri were also present.
Friends and well-wishers gathered to eat, drink and be merry! Prince of Jaipurs Max Talreja prepared a sumptuous buffet of Indian food for guests to enjoy as all types of drinks were flowing freely!
To add entertainment, Danny invited magician Erik Mana (for bookings, call his manager Solomon Cu at 0917-8132173) to dazzle the audience with his magic tricks. Erik baffled the guests as he moved from table to table. The eclectic yet very good mix of locals and expats seemed to take turn asking Erik to perform on their table, drink, or try to talk to the very busy birthday boy.
Things got going when Dannys sister Geri grabbed actress Giselle Sanchez to sing with her on stage as the crowd watched with delight. Most of the guests started dancing until the wee hours of the morning, something expected from a party by Danny.

A thali is a common style of meal in India. Its name is derived from the type of plate it is served on, usually consisting of a small amount of different dishes plus some basmati rice and chapati, a little chutney and dessert. The different aromas and tastes, and the presentation of the dish itself make it hard for anyone to resist.
The Peninsula Manilas Spices Restaurant is having a Thali featuring a tempting array of delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian Thali meals. It is until Oct. 17. The Indian Thali meals, specially created by Spices Indian Specialty chef Bairagi Sahani, are set at the extremely P950+ for the vegetarian and P1,100+ for the non-vegetarian.
