A dazzling wedding
July 17, 2003 | 12:00am
It was a beautiful afternoon when Liezl Hidalgo Jacinto, the youngest daughter of Rupert and Tina Hidalgo-Jacinto, exchanged wedding vows with Yukimura Sato, the son of Masaharu Sato and Masako Gibeault of Japan and New York respectively, in ceremonies held at the Santuario de San Antonio, Forbes Park last July 3. Both bride and groom are residents of New York.
Rev. Fr. Nestor Manlangit officiated as the main celebrant, with Rev. Fr. Toru Nishimoto, CSR as co-celebrant. The reception was held at The Peninsula Manila.
Headed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the principal sponsors also included Executive Secretary Alberto Romulo; Sen. Loren Legarda and Sen. Manuel Villar; Secretary Josefina Lichauco and Sen. Ramon Magsaysay Jr.; Chito Madrigal-Collantes and Ambassador Alfonso Yuchengco (proxied by Rizalino Navarro); Imelda Cojuangco and Ambassador Bienvenido Tantoco Sr.; Nenita Floirendo and Mayor Jejomar Binay; Menchu Concepcion and former Prime Minister Cesar Virata; Doris Magsaysay-Ho and architect Lor Calma; Cynthia Pastor and architect Ramon Antonio; Ethel Soliven-Timbol and Mario Katigbak; Evangeline Pascual (representing Aida David Cancio); David Lim; Sandie Poblador; and Ramon Hidalgo.
The bridal entourage from New York included maid of honor Jacqueline Jacinto; best man Kenho Osawa; bridesmaids Justina Antonio Jacinto, Ayaka Sato, Melinda Tait and Victoria Cuesta; and groomsmen Jeremy Jacinto, Jeff Tait, Jeff Castañeda, Peter Zuratynsky, Jody Jacinto and David Snyder. The secondary sponsors were Clarissa Hidalgo, Angelo Hidalgo, Ana Tan Santos and Paul Santos, Mika Taki and Jody Jacinto. The ring bearer was Jose Ramil Carlos and flower girls were Ma. Angela Sofia Carlos and Alexia Dagondon.
The bride wore a Pitoy Moreno creation of pure silk duchess satin bias-cut strapless gown with a slight train. An upturned bow at the back was sprayed with Swarovski beads and jewel stones, and ended in a long train. The brides headpiece was a diamond Bvlgari tiara. It was accented with a long illusion tulle veil. Makeup was by Jesi Mendez.
Floral designer Tony Padilla and stylist Albert Avellana decorated the Rigodon Ballroom with elegant zen floral arrangements, making each table a work of art. International pianist, Dean Raul Sunico gave a special number, Rhapsody in Blue.
Tita Trillo carefully selected the wines. Served were Agneau Blanc Bordeaux 1999 Baron Philippe de Rothschild, S.A. which was served with the Profiterole of Spiced Prawns, and Chateau Clos de la Tour Reserve du Chateau Bordeaux Superieur 2001 which went so well with the Rib Eye of Beef in Red Wine Ginger Sauce. It was an evening of visual, gastronomic and aural delights!
Have a great life ahead of you, Liezl and Yuki!
