A fashionable high tea

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton -
I just experienced how difficult and uncomfortable it can be to be part of the "machinations" women of different persuasions during an all-women event. During Euromode’s fashion and high tea affair called One Fashionable Summer, I feared I had almost become one of the ladies. So much so that when I stood up to answer the call of nature, I was confronted with a dilemma – should I go to the men’s or ladies’ room? One can really get caught up in these fashion events!

Euromode’s two-day fashion extravaganza featured premier brands Escada, Escada Sport, Laurel, Betty Barclay, Vera Mont and St. John. The clothes were, however, not only attractions. The glamorous attendees who viewed the designs – from classic and elegant lines to modern and colorful silhouettes – were just as interesting.

Stylish host Marilou Peña-Koa welcomed an eclectic mix of diplomats, socialites, personalities and fashionistas in the relaxed affair. Guests included Consul Evie Costa of the Republic of Togo; Louis Vuitton’s Gigi Mabanta; Indonesian model Niza Huber and husband Joachim; Franck Provost franchise owner Baby Cruz; TV and movie personalities Assunta de Rossi-Ledesma and Princess Punzalan; The French Baker’s GM Johnlu Koa; Robert Carlos; and Ramon de Ubago III, among others.

It was truly an event that celebrated the curves and charms of women! Congratulations to Euromode for a successful event!
A silent and serene union
Ramon and Suchada Lichauco’s wedding ceremony was an intimate and solemn one. The guests who totalled only 90 gathered at the open garden of One Roxas Triangle at Paseo de Roxas and toasted to the attractive couple’s bright future.

Suchada was an ethereal beauty in an off-white strapless wedding gown with sparkling beads and crystals. Ramon was the dashing groom in a dark suit and silver tie. Youthful mom Baby Fernando gave her blessing with husband Eddie Chaturachinda joining her. The sweet bridesmaids wore lavender dresses, clutching bouquets of white and pink roses.

Stylish ninang Nedy Tantoco was an elegant godmother in a flowing pink dress with silver accents, and Charo Yujuico was immaculate in a layered gown of lace and silk. Antonio Tambunting Jr. and Axel Brandner were dapper ninongs, too, in their traditional barongs.

The Spanish cuisine was fabulous and the reception with its subdued lighting and quiet atmosphere was simply classy.

Other guests in this special wedding were dear friends Mayenne Carmona; Jojo Zabarte; Nancy Tambunting; Mario Borao and many more.

To Ramon and Suchada, may you live happily ever after!

We would like to apologize for inadvertently misspelling the name of SMART Communications president and CEO Napoleon "Polly" Nazareno in our last column.
