Exchanging I dos in the City of Love
July 25, 2002 | 12:00am
Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away
For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone
The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come...
The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one and come away. The song of Solomon
Paris was abloom, and not just with flowers. One lovely spring day in the "City of Love," good-looking general surgeon Dr. Norman Bustos and the beauteous endodontist Dr. Isabel "Zoe" Campos walked down the aisle of the Paroisse Notre Dame DAuteuil, Chapelle Sainte Bernadette. Zoe was radiant and she looked even more ethereal in a gown designed by her friend, Paris-trained designer Joji Lloren.
Zoe is the granddaughter of the late President Carlos P. Garcia and the First Lady Leonila Garcia, and the daughter of lawyer Fernando Campos and the late Linda Garcia Campos. Norman is the son of the late Dr. Jesus Bustos and Dr. Alicia Santiago Bustos. The newlyweds entertained guests in a reception at the Taillevent, a renowned restaurant in Paris. At Taillevent, reservations have to be made a month in advance. It was founded in the 14th century by Guillaume Tirel, a famous cook in the court of French monarchs. He was popularly called Taillevent and was responsible for putting together the first cookbook in France known as La Viandier. A seven-course meal awaited Norman and Zoes guests at Taillevent.
Earlier in the month, following the Filipino tradition, Zoes dad Nanding Campos hosted a despedida de soltera for her aboard the yacht Bateux Pariessene, which gently cruised down the Seine River in Paris as the couple entertained the guests. Zoe wore a dress designed by another Filipino, Jose "Pidge" Reyes.
