Christmas helps keep Icelandic storytelling alive

REYKJAVIK, Iceland — With an outstanding storytelling and writing tradition, Icelanders usually give books to loved ones as a present for Christmas.

Two-thirds of books in Iceland are published in the two-month period before 25 December, known as the ‘jolabokaflod’, or the Christmas book flood.
