WATCH: CCTV camera footage of Manila restaurant grenade attack

MANILA, Philippines — A closed-circuit television camera footage released by Barangay 636 Sunday captured the grenade-throwing incident in front of a restaurant in San Miguel, Manila.

The CCTV footage showed that an unidentified man on board a motorcycle threw a grenade at C-foods restaurant located at the corner of Concepcion Aguila and 4th streets of Manila. The grenade attacker was wearing a helmet, black jacket and basketball shorts.

The explosion occurred at around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Manila Police District director Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said no one was hurt in the blast.

The restaurant is owned by Macario Tinio who claimed that he received threats through text messages a week before the grenade attack.

The authorities are now looking into business rivalry as a possible motive behind the incident. —with reports from Rey Galupo
