MANILA, Philippines (Updated April 24, 9:20 a.m.) — A rescue dog, trained by the Philippine Coast Guard, found a survivor and a victim under the rubble of a collapsed building in Porac, Pampanga.

In a video release, the PCG said that rescue K9 found one survivor and a lifeless body inside the damaged Chuzon Supermarket building in Porac town.

The video showed the rescue dog surveying the area and then went under a collapsed part of the building.

A man in the video said that the dog must be alerting his trainers.

Porac sustained the worst damage from the magnitude 6.1 earthquake that hit Monday afternoon. Disaster officials recorded 15 fatalities, while 14 people were reported missing in Central Luzon and dozens of others were injured by falling rubble, including in Manila. — Kristine Joy Patag with a report from Agence France Presse

*Editor's note: The latest update reflects the corrected place where the rescue happened. An earlier advisory from the PCG identified the place of rescue as Jose Songco Lapid Cultural Sports and Civic Center buiding.
