Video of the Day: 'Sassy' Pinay enters American Idol Season 14
MANILA, Philippines – Another Filipino-American has made it to the Hollywood round of the famed American Idol.
Erika David is not new to the limelight since she has been performing for Filipino community events in the US for a few years now. She also rose to fame online by putting up her video song covers and original composition on YouTube since 2007.
In her pre-audition interview, she said that she hopes the judges would see her sass and talent in singing. Erika stood in front of the judges and performed her rendition of Alicia Keys’ "No One.”

Up to date, Jasmine Trias (2004) and Jessica Sanchez (2012) are the only Filipinas who made it through the audition and performed during the live shows of American Idol.
