Defense insists CJ kin not a mere caretaker

The defense team of Chief Justice Renato Corona insisted today that its witness, a relative of the high magistrate, is not merely a caretaker of the parcels of land in Marikina City.

Lawyer Karen Jimeno, defense panel spokesperson, added that it is illogical to think that the seven lots bought by Vicente Demetrio from Cristina, the chief justice's wife, should be included in Corona's  statements of assets, liabilities and net worth.

"There no logic that it is related to the SALN of CJ Corona," she said.
