Defense accuses prosecution of trial by publicity

Defense lawyers of Chief Justice Renato Corona have accused the prosecution panel in the impeachment trial in engaging in trial publicity.

Lawyer Tranquil Salvador III alleged that the prosecutors could be violating the sub judice rule for discussing the merits of the case in public.

"Ang merito ng kaso ay nilalabas sa public kaya nagkakaroon ng build up ng public opinion na hiwalay na nangyayari sa actual sa korte," Salvador said.
