New MMDA chief vows no more exemptions in UVVRP

MANILA, Philippines -- No more motorists shall be exempted from the unified vehicular volume reduction program (UVVRP), according new Metropolitan Manila Development Authority head. MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino made the declaration shortly after formally taking over the agency today from Oscar Inocentes.

He, however, pointed out that the standing exemptions given to media and medical vehicles will remain. The MMDA will no longer be accommodating UVVRP exemption applications starting next Monday.
