The 45 years of existence of the New People’s Army has brought nothing but misery and suffering not only to our society but to its members, especially those victims it has purged, and could be continuing to purge. And what about the massacre victims, soldiers, police who died in raids and landmine attacks, as well as all other illegal activities that burden the populace.
We hope they will soon realize that their struggle through violence will never succeed. They should also remember the lesson of EDSA, when the people fought democracy peacefully. The people’s rejection of violence was very evident yet the NPAs close their eyes to this fact. Their lofty ambition to topple the government can never happen as the people won’t allow it.
There is no doubt their organization is fast becoming an irrelevant organization, they ride on issues favorable to them, and not to Filipinos they claim they fight for.
