On behalf of the commuters from Cavite and Batangas, may I request the concerned government agency to require jeepneys from Manila plying Baclaran to extend their route up to Coastal Mall where the Southwest Bus Terminal is located. The terminal is where commuters can take their ride going to the two mentioned provinces.
The passenger jeepneys from Manila are only up to the area near the Baclaran church, so passengers going to Cavite and Batangas have to take another ride going to the terminal. This is an extra expense for us commuters. Other passengers can take jeepneys going to Cavite, but there are only a few of them. So there is a mad scramble among commuters to get that ride. Some jeepney drivers take advantage of the situation and charge a higher fare, while other jeepney drivers pick up only passengers going to farther places.
The extra transportation expense is a burden to poor commuters like students, employees and other workers. – MARIA JONALYN V. CANTA, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila
