This refers to your article published September 18, 2011 entitled “No reason to revamp legal team, says P-Noy” which mentioned a previous statement made by lawyer Harry Roque saying that “ARMM setback happened because the members of the legal team didn’t consult Solicitor General Jose Anselmo Cadiz”.
Contrary to the statement of Atty. Roque, we reiterate that the Office of the Solicitor General is in full consultation with the other members of President Aquino’s legal team. The Solicitor General himself have frequent meetings with Executive Secretary Ochoa, Secretary of Justice Leila de Lima and Deputy Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs Michael Aguinaldo to coordinate on legal options and necessary steps that need be taken when significant issues involving the government are in question.
It is hoped that this has clarified the abovementioned matter and more importantly, assured the public of our full commitment to uphold the Rule of Law and the pursuit of a just society for the Filipino people.
