MANILA, Philippines - I am an avid reader of your paper, and I must admit that your issues are quite affecting me especially in terms of governance and political issues. Really! Those are awesome! But this time, I just would like to share a personal observation and experience to some guys who truly deserve commendation.
I personally commend the Philippine and US soldiers for its 3-day medical and dental mission in our town. The cheerful faces of the residents here that benefited during the activities has always been an overwhelming sight, hence, this has never failed to inspire the soldiers to strive harder to bring basic services to our fellow Filipinos living in far-flung areas.
We are very optimistic that the MEDCAP activities of the Philippines and US forces will surely bridge multi stakeholder participation among LGUs and different concerned sectors of society. I am so happy to let you know that the project benefited at least 1,500 young and adult patients from various Brgys in Unkaya Pukan and Sumisip in Basilan.
Truly, such services rendered by our gallant soldiers are indeed a noble endeavor. They are not only the defenders of the people but also public servants who are willing to exert its best effort to find ways on how to serve more the people they are protecting. We salute you sirs! Keep up the good work! — Cecilia Maturan, Balon, Unkaya Pukan, Basilan
