New Product: Ficus grafted on adventitious roots

-

MANILA, Philippines - Ficus (strangling fir) adventitious roots are considered junk and a nuisance in the Philippines. The straight branchless roots dangles from big limbs are now being harvested and used for grafting commercially-desirable varieties of Ficuses. This solves the problem of watersprouts if stems were used.

The root sections take the place of the stem. Pricing is based on the diameter and length of the root section used for grafting. The bigger the root section is, the better the price. The only constraint in production is the limited size of open-top containers that can carry the plants.
