Over 11,000 pass teachers' exams

MANILA, Philippines – A total of 11,322 examinees passed the licensure examination for teachers given by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) last month.

In its official website, the PRC said 4,835 passed the licensure test for elementary teachers out of 31,306 examinees. Four passed the accelerated teacher education program out of 109 examinees.           

Of the 27,802 examinees, 6,483 passed the licensure exam for high school teachers. West Visayas State University-La Paz had the most number of passers - 71 out of 84 examinees - in the licensure test for the elementary level.

The University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman had a 100 percent passing rate, as all of its 95 examinees passed the licensure exam for the secondary level.

The University of Santo Tomas had an 89 percent passing rate, with 51 of its 57 examinees passing.                      

Passers who placed in the top 10 of the elementary licensure exam are: Josephine Gayl Achacoso Porter, UP-Diliman (88.2 percent); Rageene Vera Delica Dueñas, UP-Diliman (87.4); Englevert Pongan Reyes, University of San Jose-Recoletos (87.4); Charina Vasquez Gozano, Batangas State University (87.2); Miraflor Mangoma Sevilla, National Teacher’s College (87); Sarah Lanoy Balbuena, UP-Diliman (86.8); Beverly Kim Cancino Fernandez, UP-Diliman (86.4); Candy Mechelle Genova Sibulo, Ateneo de Naga (86.4); Vienna Anne Talain Austria, De La Salle University-Manila (86.2); Rona Uy Lumba, Saint Paul University-Manila (86.2); Maria Jane Agad, Holy Name University (86); Patricia Mesias Feliciano, De La Sale University-Manila (86); Helena Ramla Chin Hechanova, UP-Diliman (86); Christine Lastimosa Velasquez, Misamis University-Ozamis City (86); Nerissa Maido Losbañes, West Visayas State University-La Paz (85.8),  Arnicha Jacobe Aromin, UP-Diliman (85.6); Jericha Amparado, UP-Diliman (85.6); and Zaldy de la Torre Villarias, Talisay City College (85.6).

For the secondary level, passers who placed in the top 10 are: Clarence Tan Gatchalian, De La sale University-Manila (91.2); Jerome Geronimo Macapagal, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina (89.8); Melane Acuzar Manalo, University of San Jose-Recoletos (89.6); Ma. Adeinev Manahan Reyes, Ateneo de Manila University (89.6); Athena Carumba Reyes, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (89.4); Ana Mariella Lim Ginete, Silliman University (89); Noel Miguel Magdoboy Careña, Mindanao State University-Gen.
