Team Philippines naghahanda na para sa 2025
Si Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino kasama sina Executive Board members (nakatayo mula sa kaliwa) Atty. Wharton Chan, Dr. Jose Raul Canlas, Alvin Aguilar, Donaldo Caringal, Alexander Sulit, Ferdinand Agustin and Jessie Lacuna; and (nakaupo mula sa kaliwa) Leah Gonzales, Al Panlilio, Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski at Leonora Escollante.

MANILA, Philippines — Magiging abala ang buong Team Philippines sa taong ito dahil sa kaliwa’t kanang malalaking international tournaments na nakalinya.

Mula sa Harbin sa P­ebrero hanggang sa Chengdu sa Agosto, sa Bahrain sa Oktubre bago tapusin ang taon sa Dis­yembre sa Thailand.

Kaya naman ikinakasa na ni Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino ang magiging programa nito para masi­guro na handang-handa ang delegasyon bago sumabak sa laban.

“It’s a busy year marked with major international competitions,” ani Tolentino matapos ang meeting ng bagong Executive Board sa Hai Shin Lou Restaurant sa Makati City kahapon.

Unang aarangkada sa 2025 ang 9th Asian Winter Games sa Harbin, China sa Pebrero 7 hanggang 14 kasunod ang 12th World  Games sa Chengdu, China sa Agosto 7 hanggang 17.

Lalarga rin ang 3rd Asian Youth Olympics Games mula Oktubre 22 hanggang 31 sa Bahrain at ang 33rd Southeast Asian Games na idaraos naman sa Thailand sa Disyembre 9 hanggang 20.

“We’re aiming to send as many capable and qualified athletes as possible to these games and we’re targeting the best possible results,” ani  Tolentino.

Kasama ni Tolentino sa meeting sina first vice president Al Panlilio (basketball), treasurer Dr. Jose Raul Canlas (surfing) at auditor Donaldo Caringal (volleyball) at board members Leonora Escollante (canoe-kayak), Alvin Aguilar (wrestling), Ferdinand Agustin (jiu-jitsu,), Alexander Sulit (judo), Leah Gonzales (fencing) at Jessie Lacuna (Athletes Commission).

Dumating din si International Olympic Committee Representative to the Phi­lippines Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski habang hindi nakadalo si second vice president Richard Gomez (modern pentathlon).

Inilipat naman ang Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games sa 2026 sa Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Itinalaga rin ng Executive Board ang mga mangunguna sa bawat kumite. 

Si Atty. Wharton Chan ang secretary-general habang may kani-kanyang tungkulin sina Atty. Marcus Andaya (legal), Atty. Billie Sumagui (membership), Atty. Alberto Agra (arbitration), Michael Vargas (international affairs), Escollante (gender equality), Canlas (medical and anti-doping), Sulit (safe sports) at Marcus Jarwin Manalo (technical).
