22K graduating HS students to take PUP entrance exam

MANILA, Philippines - Some 22,000 graduating students are trooping to the Polytechnic University of the Philippines main campus in Sta. Mesa, Manila on Saturday, Jan. 25, to take the PUP College Entrance Test (PUPCET).

Dr. Anna Ruby Gapasin, PUP Communication Management Office (CMO) director, with the huge number of students going to PUP campus, flow of traffic around the vicinity of the PUP Sta. Mesa campus is expected to be heavy.

Gapasin said the PUP administration has coordinated with the Manila Police District-Traffic Management Group to manage the flow of traffic in the area, thus minimizing the inconvenience to the public.

The CMO director said PUP, the largest state university in the country in terms of student population, will hold its first batch of entrance examinations for graduating high school students from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

She noted that the second batch of PUPCET is on Feb. 15.

Gapasin said they have been disseminating information to motorists and commuters to expect heavy traffic within the area and take alternative routes on the day of the examination.

PUP is a government-run university and majority of its students belong to the economically challenged level of society.
