Enderun-Microsoft partnership offers scholarships in priority courses

MANILA, Philippines - Enderun Colleges, in partnership with Microsoft, will be offering 10 scholarship grants this November 2013 for Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS). This is in response to the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) call for priority courses to reflect the needs of the Philippine labor market.

The grant is open to transferees and second degree takers. Each grant allows the scholar to pay up to 60% less in tuition, up to a maximum of four years. In order to be eligible to receive financial aid, one must have excellent scholastic performance and high potential to succeed in the IT or Technology Management field.

“We are looking for students with a strong commitment to academic excellence,” shares Wilson Gan, vice president of academics and assistant dean for College of Business, Technology and Entrepreneurship. “Those with high potential to succeed in the Information Technology field are perfect for the program and the scholarship grants. Enderun welcomes driven individuals who are interested in developing their careers in business and IT.”

Enderun Colleges offers bachelor’s degree and non-degree courses in the field of business administration, entrepreneurship and international hospitality management. The Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS) with specialization in Technology Management is Enderun’s newest program that combines business and information technology into one degree. Students under the BSIS program are introduced to accounting, finance, marketing and strategic management, enabling them to design systems that meet the needs of business today.

CHED’s priority courses include Information Technology, Health Sciences, Agriculture, Engineering, Teacher Education courses, Science and Math courses. These priority courses were identified based on national development plans, the labor market study of the Department of Labor and Employment, and manpower demands for 2011-2015. This study identified jobs that are in-demand and hard-to-fill.
