MANILA, Philippines - PSBank renewed its partnership with the Association of Chinese Filipino Schools in the Philippines (ACFSP) to provide educational assistance to 40 underprivileged but deserving students through the PSBank Educational Assistance Program.
The memorandum of agreement between PSBank and ACFSP was signed by PSBank president Vicente Cuna Jr. and ACFSP director Judy Go Tan last June 6 at the PSBank Downtown branch in Binondo, Manila. The event was witnessed by PSBank senior officers, ACFSP directors and representatives of its member-schools.
Two former PSBank high school scholars, who are now incoming college freshmen, attended the MOA signing with their parents. A scholar from 2011 to 2013 at the Philippine Chung Hua School, Jevin Christi Dornidon is currently a BS Psychology student at Far Eastern University. He wrote a letter to the PSBank president thanking him for supporting his studies. “It is because of your generosity that I was able to focus on my studies and work hard in every little thing I do. I appreciate all the resources that you have provided. May you continue to help other students out there who want to achieve their dreams,†Jervin said.
On the other hand, Adrian Uycco graduated valedictorian from the Pasay Chung Hua Academy and is taking up Accountancy at the University of Santo Tomas to fulfill his dream of becoming a CPA-lawyer. “I am grateful to PSBank for supporting my studies financially. I hope they continue to help more poor but deserving students,†said Adrian who came with his father.
Since the program started in 2008, it has donated P2.9 million in scholarship grants to ACFSP and Chiang Kai Shek College and enabled 28 scholars to graduate.
Aside from providing scholarships, PSBank also supports child-friendly organizations such as World Vision, Resources for the Blind, Chosen Children Village Foundation and Operation Smile.
