MANILA, Philippines - As one of the pioneers of the outcomes-based education (OBE) system in the country, Malayan Colleges Laguna’s (MCL) continuous improvement of its programs and curriculum has led to numerous achievements in the past year alone.
In another impressive performance, MCL’s alpha batch of industrial engineering (IE) graduates attained a 100% passing rate in the 4th Certified IE Exam, with three Malayans Ivan Mikhail Reyes, Kris Bernadette Magaling and faculty member Ezhra Godilano grabbing the second, third, and eighth places, respectively.
Engr. Maribel Songsong, dean of Mapúa Institute of Technology at Laguna (MITL), expressed her excitement in the accomplishment of her students.
“This has been another milestone for MCL and I look at it as a measure to validate how efficient we are in implementing OBE in the IE curriculum,†said Songsong. “Creating a culture that is learner-centered is a great challenge for an academe. It requires the cooperation of the entire community that directly influences the learning process of the students.â€
MCL has garnered a 100% passing rate in the electrical engineering (EE), mechanical engineering (ME), and marine engineering (MarE) licensure exams. The school in Cabuyao, Laguna also obtained a high passing rate in other board exams last year.
