Nursing summit offers wealth of opportunities

MANILA, Philippines - On May 20 and 21, 2011 at the AIM Conference Center, International Education Specialist (Inter-Ed) will be hosting the i.NaRS 2011 that will serve as platform for nursing industry stakeholders to interact and discuss the movement and mobility of nurses to obtain international credentials and career opportunities.

The i.NaRS is by invitation only. The event is free to selected nursing universities and colleges. The summit is endorsed by CHED as a timely event to educate the academe on how they can be globally competitive. With the very limited spots for domestic employment for their graduates, there is no other option but for their RNs to go overseas, otherwise they may end up working in call centers! Helen Bartholomew, Inter-Ed founder, said the Philippine nursing industry is all pumped up for “i.NaRS 2011”, the International Nursing and Registration Summit 2011!

The two-day event will be attended by registered nurses (RNs), deans of various Philippine nursing colleges, nursing associations, government representatives from CHED, PRC, DOH, POEA and representatives from the diplomatic offices of the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Inter-Ed has always advocated educational advancement believing that a better educated population means a more progressive country. The exchange of ideas between the Philippines and the global community is key to improving the situation of Philippine nurses and healthcare providers. The summit proponents believe that local knowledge and experience can and will contribute greatly to the practice of nursing in other countries.

To be discussed on the first day is the current state of the country’s nursing industry and how Philippine universities can upgrade to meet international nursing standards. The afternoon will be dedicated to a business meeting to network and conduct partnerships through Inter-Ed. This will open doors to local nursing schools to get them aligned with international standards to ensure their graduates the competitive edge.

May 21st is dedicated to RNs only. Starting at 7 p.m. RNs will have the opportunity to meet foreign universities and be given on the spot acceptance. RNs who qualify may have the chance to leave this July or September. Applicants are to bring their credentials to the exhibit for their one-on-one sessions with foreign university representatives.

Philippine STAR is the official media sponsor of the event.

RNs will also find the most updated and accurate information on overseas options, career pathways, etc. Interested nurses can confirm their attendance by pre-registering online. Registration form is available at www.inter-ed.com. For inquiries call the Inter-Ed office at 8191001, +63 917-5351956 or +63-939-9142387.
