MANILA, Philippines - The traditional “Scholars’ Day” affair of MFI Technological Institute has been set to June 25, 2010, to be held at the gym of MFI Campus on Ortigas Avenue (beside the Medical City Hospital) in Pasig.
This year’s Scholars’ Day will start with the celebration of Holy Mass at the Assembly Hall at 2:30 p.m. The program proper will commence 4 p.m.
Expected students’ attendance (1st, 2nd and 3rd year) will exceed 504 as late registrants are still coming in.
Students who excelled academically or technically will be awarded medals. Industrial partners or companies that absorbed MFI scholars for OJT will be awarded plaques of recognition.
Courses offered in three-year scholarship program are: Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation and Tool & Die Technologies. The two-year courses include information technology (IT) and the Dual Training System (DTS) with such technologies as: automotive and motorcycle technology, industrial mechatronics technology, network administration technology, refrigeration and air-conditioning technology.
MFI scholars are considered industrial technicians when they graduate. With their specialized skills, they can understand the requirements of an engineering job and have the brass-tacks training of a worker. This enables them to render proper technical judgment and work out effective systems that compliment the responsibilities of the engineer and laborer, making them ideal supervisors in the future.
