Ramirez new Philsca president

MANILA, Philippines - A career academician, Dr. Bernard Ramirez, erstwhile vice president for administration and finance of the Philippine State College for Aeronautics (Philsca), has been elected as president of the country’s lone state flying school.

Ramirez, who had served as Philsca vice president for nine years, has taken his oath before Commission on Higher Education (CHED) chairman Emmanuel Angeles the other day, after his selection as president of the school by the school community and the board of trustees.

Being a long-time official of Philsca, Ramirez expressed optimism on the school’s potential for development as the premier educational institution that provides quality high education focusing on producing world-class graduates of aviation courses.

Ramirez said that leading his priorities as Philsca president was gaining CHED accreditation of the school’s various engineering and business education programs to ensure they are up to par with national, if not international, standards.
