VP Sara ‘no show’ sa House hearing ng OVP budget

Joy Cantos - Pilipino Star Ngayon

MANILA, Philippines — Muling inisnab ni Vice President Sara Duterte ang pagdinig ng Kamara sa hinihinging P2.037 bilyong budget ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) para sa 2025.

“The Vice President’s deliberate snub of the budget hearing shows a blatant disregard for her constitutional duty to answer to Congress and the Filipino people. This isn’t just about skipping a meeting—it’s about intentionally avoiding accountability, which is fundamental to public service,” pahayag ni House Deputy Majority Leader Jude Acidre na iginiit na importante ang “check and balance”.

“My goodness, I think her writing a letter to us telling us that she has completed, she still must be present, Madam Chair. And because she is not present, she is actually insulting the second institution that scrutinize the budget of the Vice President,” saad ni Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante.

Sinabi naman ni House Assistant Majority Leader Jil Bongalon na ‘unbecoming of a public official’ at kawalan ng respeto sa kapangyarihan ng Kongreso ang hindi pagdalo ni VP Sara sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Appropriations.

“If she cannot face the very institution responsible for overseeing government funds, how can she claim to serve the people effectively?
